In Mirkwood

by Talisse

In Mirkwood and in Lorien
The firstborn Elves do dwell.
But he who’s fairest of them all
Lives in Rivendell.
In Rivendell, where the Greyflood
Flows down to the sea,
There Figwit lives, my favourite Elf,
The one who waits for me.
O Figwit, though I go to war
I will return to thee
When dawn breaks over Rivendell
O Figwit, wait for me.
I know the years are old and grey,
And autumn leaves are falling;
Depart not from the homely house
Heed not the seas calling.
Long ago I left you,
but to my promise hold.
Forget me not , O Figwit
When the time of the Elves grows cold.
Still I ride to battle,
But yet my heart is bold.
I think of you, O Figwit
Leave me not, when leaves are gold.
He’s stunning, flippin gorgeous
My fair Melpomaen
And I know I love him
Far more than mortal men
But times are hard and dark now,
And I must ride to war
J ust- think of me one last time
Ere you travel to the shore
For I am bound to Middle Earth
Now and evermore
Don’t leave me here, O Figgy dear,
For now and evermore.
O Figwit, though I go to war
I will return to thee
When dawn breaks over Rivendell
O Figwit, wait for me.
